J.K. Rowling Forgeries is a fan project to document, collect and display forgeries of J.K. Rowling’s signature in book and other collectibles. It tries to help fans and collectors who are planning to buy a signed item by Harry Potter author.

Who are you?

J.K. Rowling Forgeries is made by Harry Potter fans and collectors who have been in this for years now, and are more used to see original Rowling’s signatures as well fake ones. We just want to help fans and collectors to fulfill their dreams of having a signed copy of their favourite book. We are not doing this for commercial purposes: this website has no ads and its URL is .org to avoid confussions.

How are you so sure that some signature is fake?

Some signatures are really easy to identify as forgeries. Others may be more complicated, but we pay attention to a lot of details. Also, some sellers are known in the community to sell fake signatures, so we keep track of that too.

I have bought a book and now I’m suspicious it may be a forgery. What should I do?
